On Saturday Holmer Green 1st XI were presented with the Chilterns/Mid Bucks Premier League trophy after winning the league by a whopping 60 points from the nearest challengers. This is a fantastic achievement by the team who have been brilliantly led by captain Ed Harris and this ensures promotion for the first time ever to the newly formed Berks & Bucks Championship which will no doubt test the team further. Whilst the team could not quite replicate last years undefeated season, winning 14 games out of 18 with one tie is a stunning effort in a stronger league than last year due to the merger with the Chilterns league.
This caps off a great season for the adults with the 2nd XI finishing second in Division 2 to gain automatic promotion to Division 1 on top of the 2nd XI Knockout Cup which was won in July. The club would like to thank both captains (Ed and Luke) for their hard work and every player who has turned out for the club in another record breaking season.
Presentation Evening will be held at the club on Friday 14th September starting at 6pm which is sure to be a fine celebration of the season for both the adults and juniors.
